Description
The MassTox® Series A reagent kit allows the rapid quantitative determination of a multitude of drugs in serum or plasma by LC-MS/MS. To perform the analysis, you will need the MassTox® BASIC Kit A, the substance-specific MassTox® PARAMETER Set and the MassTox® MasterColumn® Series A.
Preparation of the research samples is the same for all parameters, based on a simple, effective protein precipitation process. The use of stable isotope-labelled (deuterated) internal standards ensures high performance of the analysis.

Sample Preparation
The sample preparation is standard for all Series A analytes.
- Add 800 µl Internal Standard mix to 12 ml Precipitation Reagent to form mixture A
- Place 50 µl sample/calibrator/MassCheck® control into a 1.5 ml reaction vial
- Add 25 µl Extraction Buffer
- Mix and incubate 2 min at ambient temperature (do not centrifuge)
- Add 250 µl of mixture A and mix 30 sec minimum (vortex)
- Centrifuge 5 min at 9000 x g
- Dilute the supernatant with Dilution Buffer prior to injection depending on instrument sensitivity
