Description

Calibration Standard for analysis of serotonin in urine, primary standard solution.

This aqueous calibration standard (order no. 3003) from Chromsystems is injected directly into the HPLC system without sample preparation. While following the instructions the calibrator should be measured in the same manner as a patient specimen.
An alternative is the lyophilised calibrator (order no. 4009) that is based on human urine and should be used according to the instruction manual.

Reconstitution

Urine Calibration Standard (order no. 4009)

Carefully remove the metal seal and rubber stopper from the vials. Add exactly 12.0 ml of distilled water into each vial. Return the stopper and incubate for 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature. Swirl the vials to dissolve the contents until homogeneity.

Storage conditions

Urine Calibration Standard (order no. 4009)

Stored at +2 to +8 °C and unopened, the lyophilised calibrator is stable until the expiry date specified on the vial labels. The reconstituted calibrator can be stored up to 5 days tightly capped at +2 to +8 C. If the calibrator cannot be used within this period, it should be aliquoted and stored frozen below -18 °C (up to 3 months).
